Large Rustic Wooden American Flag – Hand-Painted Wall Art (39×19)
Painted by Deb’s Art Studio • Wood panel handcrafted by Kip’s Wood Shop • Made in Oregon
This large rustic wooden American flag is a true collaboration between two Artistic Turtle makers. Kip’s Wood Shop builds the pine panel by hand, and Deb’s Art Studio individually paints every stripe, star, and color field. At 39 × 19 inches, it creates a bold focal point while retaining the grain, texture, and small variations that make handmade work feel genuine.
Each flag follows the same overall design, but it is never mass-produced or mechanically duplicated. Natural wood grain, knots, brushwork, and color variation give every finished piece its own character.

Production and Shipping Preparation
Each flag is individually handcrafted and painted. When a finished flag is available and ready to ship, it normally leaves our shop within 2–4 business days. Otherwise, please allow approximately 5–8 business days for production and preparation before shipment.
Carrier transit time begins after the order ships and varies by destination.
How It Is Made
Kip’s Wood Shop selects and prepares the pine, joins the boards, eases the edges, sands the surface through progressive grits, and builds the supporting back structure. Deb’s Art Studio then paints the stripes, navy field, and individual stars by hand. The completed artwork is sealed and fitted with two sawtooth hangers.
This slow, hands-on process means grain patterns, knots, brushwork, and small painted details will vary from the photographs. Those differences are part of the story of the piece, not manufacturing defects.
Where It Works Well
- Above a sofa, mantel, desk, or entry console
- Patriotic feature walls and gallery walls
- Farmhouse, lodge, rustic, and industrial interiors
- Offices, schools, meeting rooms, and community spaces
- Military retirements, commemorations, housewarmings, and meaningful gifts
Hanging
Two sawtooth hangers are installed near the upper corners to distribute the weight and help with leveling. Measure the distance between the hangers and use two properly rated screws or wall anchors suitable for your wall material. Wall-mounting hardware is not included.
Care
Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water, abrasive cleaners, or harsh chemicals. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and high-moisture areas. Indoor display is recommended. A well-covered porch may be suitable, but the flag should not be exposed directly to rain, snow, or continuous outdoor weather.
Handmade by Artistic Turtle
Artistic Turtle is a family-run collective built around slow craft, honest materials, and work made by real people. This flag brings together Kip’s woodworking and Deb’s painting in one finished piece made in Oregon.

Is each flag handmade?
Yes. Kip’s Wood Shop builds the pine panel, and Deb’s Art Studio paints each flag individually. The design remains consistent, but grain, knots, brushwork, and small painted details naturally vary.
How long does production take?
A finished, ready-to-ship flag normally ships within 2–4 business days. If a new flag must be made, allow approximately 5–8 business days for production and preparation before shipment. Carrier transit time is additional.
How do I hang the flag?
Two sawtooth hangers are installed near the upper corners. Measure their spacing and use two properly rated screws or wall anchors. Level the screws before placing the flag on the wall.
Can the flag be displayed outdoors?
The flag is intended primarily for indoor display. A well-covered porch may be suitable, but direct exposure to rain, snow, prolonged sunlight, or continuous outdoor moisture is not recommended.
Will my flag look exactly like the photographs?
The size, colors, and overall design will remain consistent, but natural grain, knots, brushwork, and small painted details vary. Each finished flag has its own handmade character.
Back Structure and Hanging
- A mitered pine perimeter frame helps support the wide panel.
- Two full-height interior stiles add rigidity and help resist bowing.
- Two sawtooth hangers provide separate mounting points for easier leveling.
- The approximately 1.5–2″ profile creates a defined shadow line when mounted.
